Vector stirrups represent a new generation of stirrups – technically advanced and lightweight, while retaining the classic style expected from LeMieux.
Machined from aircraft-grade aluminum, they offer an impressive strength-to-weight ratio. At only 419g per stirrup, they are lighter than most stirrups on the market, without compromising stability.
Advanced Technology for Optimal Balance
The Balance stirrup features an ergonomic footplate inclined at 5°, with a cross-hatch grip surface and hardened steel pins, ensuring better leg stability and keeping the heel down.
The double balance arch system evenly distributes weight across the base of the stirrup frame. Its recessed and offset top promotes an outward orientation at 45°. This makes it easier to find the optimal foot angle and allows for easier recovery of a lost stirrup.
Safety and Controlled Release
An integrated articulated arm is designed with a two-stage release system, preventing accidental opening. This spring-loaded arm locks into the base of the main frame, ensuring that, under maximum pressure (such as when landing after a jump), the rider's weight is evenly distributed, preventing the stirrup from collapsing outwards.
In the event of a fall, when pressure is exerted on the stirrup arm, it opens, allowing the foot to disengage and thus reducing the risk of being dragged. The force required to open the safety arm is 36N (3.62 kg), providing sufficient resistance to prevent unintentional openings, while ensuring release when needed.
Important Note
No stirrup of this type (with quick-release safety arm) can guarantee 100% opening in the event of a fall. Certain factors, such as the horse falling, a loose girth causing the saddle to slip, or an unusual exit angle, may not generate enough lateral force to trigger the opening. These cases remain rare, but it is essential to be aware of them.
