HEALING SALVE - Wound Healing & Protection The Gilded Paddock

Our Healing Balm has been formulated to treat some of the most difficult skin and wound conditions: abdominal insect dermatitis, cuts, scrapes, saddle sores, cracked and damaged skin, and lacerations. Easy to apply, this balm, made with natural butters, waxes and vegetable oils, stays in place, making wound care easier without compromising effectiveness.

This formula was originally developed to treat Sucha Fella, our founder’s Quarter Horse, who was suffering from a severe allergic skin irritation caused by insects on his belly. Nothing else seemed to work, and with the only alternative being to use petroleum-based products, we decided to create our own healing salve. Of course, the first test was on Fella, and then we shared it with our stablemates. It quickly became one of our favorites—its earthy, floral scent, buttery texture, and the healing power of its essential oils made it a staple in every medicine cabinet.

Our healing balm is also perfect for riders – it softens rough skin, repairs cracked hands and is ideal for applying to cuticles after using it on your horse. Safe, natural and with a pleasant scent, you no longer need to wash your hands after applying this product to your horse!

When formulating our Healing Balm, we deliberately opted for a thick and occlusive formulation – we knew that to achieve the best results, it was necessary to use natural and organic butters combined with specific vegetable oils, combined with powerful essential oils, actives and extracts. Sea Buckthorn Fruit Extract is known for its healing properties, while Frankincense Frereana, Patchouli and Myrrh essential oils promote skin repair and healing. Our anhydrous (waterless) formula presents some challenges, but it was important to us to take a traditional approach to our healing balm. It should be noted that this product may melt in the sun or very hot weather, but you can always place it in a cool place to firm up again. It is a 100% natural, safe and effective formula that promotes faster healing and protects your horse from insects on sensitive areas.
